Kaie
A bisexual woman, age 71
I don’t think there is anything that needs to be left behind in my life. Some things have passed already and I don’t have a problem with that. But I’d like to bring along this picture of Christ. It’s a rather common catholic iconographic motive of Christ of Mercy—sitting very happily projecting light and love and mercy and everything like that. This is the reason I started to love Christ long ago. I just recognised the love, while I didn’t know much anything about the Bible. There was a period I didn’t feel like, but then I returned to the Christ of Mercy.
About the project in Estonia
The photographed objects were brought to the group interview by the research participants. These objects symbolised something to leave behind and something to bring to the future. The stories are excerpts from the interviews.
